File sharing on network

I have 4 PCs on my network and all with Win 8 Pro installed. All have the same workgroup and are included in the same HomeGroup. Three of them have my user name and password for login and the fourth has another user and PW as login. Both users have Windows accounts (Hotmail) as their login accounts. One of the PCs I use as a server for all our data, pix, downloads, etc. The PCs with my login, including the server, can log onto the other PCs without using a PW, including the PC with the other user name. The PC with the other username cannot log onto any of the other 3 without a username & password. On that machine I can log onto the server by entering my username and PW when I try to access it, but can't use the username of that PC.

I am assuming you want to share the contents of your user folders across the machines. If not, then modify what I say accordingly. I'd start by making sure password protected sharing is not enabled on any machine. Next, I would (1) be sure that all the checkbox items available in HomeGroup are shared on each computer (or modify accordingly) and (2) share any other folders you want to share by right clicking on the folder to be shared and selecting "Share with" HomeGroup (Note that you may not have to share the Users folder; it appears typically to be shared with "Everyone" default in Win8). At this point, I'd restart all the machines and see how everything is working. If things aren't satisfactory, then I'd examine the sharing/security settings for the machines that are working properly and set the setting on the machines that are not working satisfactorily analogously--and restart all the machines again. If you still have disliked peculiarities, then I'd live with them. Also, after the second restart, you might just use the machines for a while before spending more time trying to get things exactly as you want them. Things can change unexpectedly after a little time elapses. Oh, and make sure that your network is shown as a Private network on each computer.
