I have recently shifted my self to Windows 8 Pro with Media Center x64bit from Windows 7 Ultimate x64bit..
I have an Intel DG35EC Motherboard but the Ethernet on the board does not work so i have installed an iBall Baton 10/100 PCI Network Adapter which was working perfect on windows 7..

Now that i have shifted on windows 8, the moment i make a new PPPOe connection it says verifying the userid and password and then i get a windows 8 screen saying some problem has occurred and PC needs to be restarted. After restart i am given this screen which i have attached here..

Please if anyone can help me with this issue it would be a great help. I am currently using a Belkin G USB WIFI Adapter to use internet on the same machine via WIFI and its working perfect but i need my Ethernet connection. error.png

It appears as if the Baton PCI network adaptor may not be compatible with Windows 8. You might try removing the Baton adaptor and it's drivers which may clear up the error message.

Have you tried installing the latest LAN drivers for your board? It may work to use compatibility mode for these drivers.

You may be able to fix the onboard Ethernet adaptor by clearing the cmos on the board.
