Mapped drives won't reconnect on restart

I have 2 computers, desktop and laptop. Desktop Drives are mapped to the laptop and visa versa. When I restart the desktop it automatically reconnects the laptop drive(if it is on). When I restart the laptop I have to go to Computer, the drives are shown but I have to connect with my password. I have checked the block to remember my credentials.

I think it must be something simple but can't come up with anything, Any help is appreciated.

Windows Live Essentials can cause this problem.

Uninstalling the "Windows Live ID Login Assistant" has fixed this issue in the past.

You can find it in your programs list in the control panel.

Unable to find either Windows Live Essentials or Windows Live ID Login Assistant on my computer. Looked in control panel programs list and did a search.

That is just one possible cause. There are many similar complaints about this same problem with Windows 7 and now Windows 8 all over the internet with no clear resolution.

There are batch files that you can run to fix this problem, the link below may help. :)

For some reason the bat file didn't work. I am wondering if there is a setting on the other computer that might be causing the problem.
