Yup, rights.
Navigate to the network and sharing center on the pc with the shares,
Click on 'Change advanced sharing settings'
Go to the profile that says it's your current one.
File and printer sharing should be turned on (since you can see the folders and items in it)
HomeGroup Connections, if you configured a home group, leave this on 'Allow windows to manage.. blahblah'
If you don't want your homegroup to manage it like me, put it on 'Use user accounts.. blahblah'
Now open up 'All networks'
Public Folder sharing
'Turn on sharing..'
File Sharing Connections
'Enable file sharing for..'
Password Protected Sharing
For test purposes, you can set this to 'Turn off password protected sharing' If this works, try setting this back.
Alright, now head to the folder that you are trying to acces
Right click it>Properties
Open up the tab security and click on edit
Press 'Add...'
In the box that appears, type 'Everyone' (or everyone in the installed language) en press enter
Now click on 'Everyone' (which should be added to the list right now)
For testing purposes you can give them 'full control' though you might wanna fine tune that later on.
Now click on 'Apply'
Go ahead and click on the tab 'sharing'
Click on 'Advanced sharing'
the box with 'share this folder' should already be enabled.
Click on 'permissions'
Make sure 'Everyone' is added with the corresponding rights, if not, add it here too.
Just to be sure, go back to the tab 'sharing'
Click on the button that says 'Share'
and make sure the user 'everyone' is added to the list. It should be in the drop-down, if not, add it manually.
Does it work for you now?
Can you run through these settings please?
