Look up UXstyle Core Beta, I've had success with that method as it didn't mess up my system after those same windows updates were applied.

This worked at first for me until a recent Windows Update was installed and then I would get a flashing black screen everytime I booted. I had to do a System Restore and then restore my backed up uxtheme.dll file. I'm using Uxstyle Core Beta now and the Windows Update didn't mess up my system or...

I'm loving Win 8 so far! Here is the score on my 3-year old Thinkpad X200. Just ordered an 8GB kit from Amazon so my score might change next week. Next on my list is to find an SSD to replace my mechanical drive.
