IE 11 - Frequent tab broken after 8.1 upgrade

Hi, As the title suggest, the 'Frequent' tab is not displaying as it used to in IE10, under Window 8. It is picking up some sites I am visiting but not many, and definitely not the way it did in the past. I did have some slight registry tweaks in place prior to the upgrade - mainly just to add...

Solved Want to clean install 64-bit Windows 8 over 32-bit Vista

Nope. Did is as a Local account. Everything seems to be working fine though :D I haven't even installed any drivers and everything seems to be working? I'm using an Asus P5N-E SLI board - which is pretty old, so the nforce 650i drivers seem to be for W7 64-bit.. I might install them and see...

Solved Want to clean install 64-bit Windows 8 over 32-bit Vista

I installed it as stated in the tutorial listed in the quotes in my 1st post - for Clean Install using an upgrade. I installed it over my Vista 32-bit OEM OS. SO I selected delete and then installed onto the unallocated space. When I booted from the disk in BIOS to start the setup, after stage...

Solved Want to clean install 64-bit Windows 8 over 32-bit Vista

Right, So I do have a question. I performed the install, but the customization option seemed to pass me by, and most strangely - when I went into System, Windows was already activated?? No need to do either of the steps at the end of the tutorial to activate? I'm a little disconcerted.

Solved Want to clean install 64-bit Windows 8 over 32-bit Vista

Well I decided to do the download tonight. I deleted the folders and ran the setup. This time it let me enter the product key and download. The download stated it was a pro download at step 4 - just like in the picture, but the download is once again 2.63 GB? This is a Windows 7 Home Premium...

Solved Want to clean install 64-bit Windows 8 over 32-bit Vista

Hey, It was definitely downloaded on a 64-bit OS. I now can't get to step 4 in that tutorial, because it immediately jumps to step 7. I am going to have to delete the ESD folder (or ESD/Windows folder??) and try and run the Windows8-Setup.exe, to see if it lets me enter my product key again.

Solved Want to clean install 64-bit Windows 8 over 32-bit Vista

Should be a Windows 8 Pro ISO. That's what the e-mail states I ordered, and have a product key for. In the ESD folder under Windows/efi/boot there is a bootx64efi file.. Does this mean it's a 64-bit download? If it's safe to delete the ESD folder I'll try that.

Solved Want to clean install 64-bit Windows 8 over 32-bit Vista

Hi Theog, I have downloaded the ISO from a 64-bit PC - as stated above the download was only 2.63 GB, which Brink states is the 32-bit ISO. I am also going to wipe the partition (whole drive) of the Vista x32 once I have the correct ISO. I cannot get the 64-bit ISO for some infuriating reason...

Solved Want to clean install 64-bit Windows 8 over 32-bit Vista

My head is starting to hurt. I am trying to download the ISO using the guide below: Windows 8 Upgrade ISO - Download or Create But after I run the Windows8-Setup.exe file it immediately takes me to Step 7 to install by creating media again... It seems all I need now is a 64-bit ISO. How do I...

Hi, Me again. I have downloaded Windows 8, but the laptop bluescreened on me during the "Getting files ready" stage.. Good 1st impressions  I rebooted and launched the download Windows icon that had been placed on the desktop. The "getting files ready" started again, and this time...

Solved Want to clean install 64-bit Windows 8 over 32-bit Vista

Thanks again for the fast response. I think I am confusing things though. This is the situation I have: Mother's laptop = Windows & 64-bit My PC = Vista 32-bit I want to use the laptop to get the £14.99 offer (done); use the upgrade assistant (on the W7 laptop) to get the 64-bit ISO (about...
