I think I've managed to repair all of my corrupt files without having to do a refresh/reset, I ran the Dism again - rebooted again - then did another sfc scan and it came up with no problems that time. So hopefully everything was fixed, still noticing a slight delay when right clicking on things...
Alright , thanks :) I'll see what this second run does for me and decide from there when to do a refresh/reset.
Thank you both for the help - it was greatly appricated!
So just a refresh then? or do the windows 8 reset? I think they are along the same lines but the reset seems more in depth with cleaning out the system and starting new.
Alright I will give them both another go and see if there is still corrupted files, if so. I wonder if just doing another complete reset would fix the problems that the first reset I did seemed to cause? I keep all my files for the most part on an external drive and my games are easy to...
The sfcdetails file is extremely small in the amount of writing in it now compaired to when I was trying to attach it before, so the dism managed to repair a lot of stuff and the sfc scan im guessing was able to then repair more of the problems except for the ones its listing now.
Dism finished and this was the result from that ( screenshot attached )
sfc scan made it to 100% still detected some corrupt files, sfcdetails file is attached
Dism is at 20% currently, I will redo the sfcdetails log and see if i can post those results once its done and hopefully the file size will be small enough to attach :)
That's what i did, on my desktop it says sfcdetails however when i click on properties to check file size it says 20.8MB - it dosen't have as much writing in it as the cbs log does but somehow it got bigger.
Hi
So I did the dism thing and it gave me an error code 87 ( not sure if that is normal or not?) anyway i restarted anyway and did a sfc/scannow and it got to 53% again before saying that windows resource protection found corrupt files and could not repair all of them. I did the option 3 as you...
