figured it out. when searching for the app regedt32, the system would find it, but not run. it was finding the app in the winsxs folder, this also happened when i tried to run the regedit file. I checked the properties of the file, and that's where i noticed the wrong paths! Thx all!

that's what i was thinking, microsoft accts, are only for metro store/apps. I'll have to experiment, just to be sure

for those that regedt32 is working, are you using microsoft acct, or local? curious if it's because of accts. as some apps won't run unless you're using a microsoft acct. I will be using regedit, for changes.

actually regedt32 was for Windows NT. It can run on all windows up to Win 8 from xp and above regedt32, launches regedit. I was curious why it's not running in win 8.

hi all does anyone know how to start regedt32.exe, and not regedit.exe. when i try to run regedt32, i get an error msg. "This app can't run on your pc, check the software publisher. it's a 64bit os. running as administrator, doesn't help. thx
