I've tried using FN and the windows (f4) key and I've tried using the windows button with the f4 key. Still a black laptop screen and the desktop with no mouse, icons, or open programs on the tv. I've tried it on two different brands of tv's too. Dynex and Westinghouse. My android phone work...

Once I hook up the cable the laptop screen goes black and my desktop shows up on the TV with the task bar but the mouse doesn't work and any program I had open doesn't show up or my desktop icons.

Upgrade.

I reinstalled Windows 8 overnight over Windows 7. When it restarts the account that shows up is administrator. When I click on it a message come up that says, "Your account has been disabled. Please see your system administrator." Any ideas? Thanks!

2nd bad hard drive in 4 months. Glad I have the extended warranty.

Best Buy ran diagnostics for 4 days and couldn't get any of the tests to complete so they sent it off to a higher level of support. Glad I purchased the protection plan again. I'll update when it gets back.

I did the refresh, reinstalled most of my programs. A few days later it quit playing the screens average and turning the screen of at the appointed time. Soooooo I decided to close the top for him night. When I opened it in the morning only the back light would come on. It has been at Best Buy...

I'm finishing up a system refresh right now with the 8 dvd. Didn't know what else to do. Hopefully this will work.
