You are failing to see the important note in this sentence. Hexie does not have 8.1. You cannot do 1/2 screen with Metro apps in 8.1 only on the side. I suggest you upgrade to 8.1 immediately. You get more functionality and it certainly doesn't break anything. Plus you will have the side by side...
