    Solved video_tdr_failure atikmpag.sys

Looks like I am having issues with my video card driver. Not unusual for a new operating system on an older PC. ATI Radeon HD 4800 Series In process of using the tool to collect the dumps and relevant log files. Will post when ready. Is it wise from a security perspective to make dump files...

Solved BSOD everytime you boot into Windows, Can't get into OS.

I doubt your issue was caused by your virus software. I would disable automatic updates. Lots of people are having issues where Windows 8 won't reboot after updates. Desperately in need of a major fix pack.

    Black Screen of Coma

I have noticed that occasionally my Windows 8 PC won't come back to life after sleeping, I've seen this reported on other boards also. Reboots has resolved the issues to date. Anyone else experiencing this Windows 8 instability?

Solved Windows 7 or Windows 8?

Make sure you have a good backup you can completely restore from if you take the plunge. Personally I wouldn't suggest it. There have been quite a few instability issues with Windows 8 and usability is also an issue for many. As with any major O/S upgrade it is best to wait until the software...

HELP! Stuck at automatic repair loop... WONT BOOT.

I had exactly the same problem you're experiencing. I fortunately have an eSATA connected external drive that is a ghost copy of my original Windows 7 boot disk prior to my Windows 8 install (smartly don't trust new operating systems). I booted from that and didn't find any hardware issues...

Why they designed Windows 8 the way they did

Touch can be successfully applied to the desktop / laptop using a multitouch pad. Apple has proved this very successfully. Applying a good touchpad to Win8 makes it much more usable on the desktop. I do think eliminating any hierarchical containment in Metro was a huge mistake. I also think the...

New touchpad - Makes a huge difference in Win 8 usability

You can double tap and drag with the latest T650 drivers. This works for drag and drop as well as highlighting. No need to using anything but the touchpad. Nick

Touchpad - Makes Windows 8 a pleasant experience

Most of the confusion and struggle with Windows 8 relates to navigating the new UI with a mouse and keyboard. There are also issues with reaching to a touch screen for UI manipulation. I just bought a Logitech Touchpad to replace my desktop mouse. I am now finding Windows 8 a joy to work...

    Touch screen?

I would suggest getting a good touchpad. I just bought the Logitech T650. I can navigate easily now with simple touch gestures. Much easier than using a mouse or touch screen. If you're familiar with Apple's Mountain Lion and touchpad interface, it works similarly. It has totally changed my...

    Touchscreen Scroll vs Drag?

I just bought a Logitech Touchpad. Logitech implements drag and drop using a double tap then drag. Works great. Not sure if there is something similar on the touch screens.

Windows 8 Sales Well Below Projections, Plenty of Blame

I've been a major naysayer regarding Windows 8. Just bought a Logitech trackpad. Wow. What a difference it makes regarding the usability of Windows 8. Simple touch gestures allow me to navigate easily and quickly. I equate the experience to using Mountain Lion on my Mac. I would even...

New touchpad - Makes a huge difference in Win 8 usability

I just purchased the Logitech T650 touchpad. Makes navigating Windows 8 much easier. I am finding the experience now very similar to Apple's Mountain Lion UI. Once the touch movements are mastered it is very easy and quick to navigate between the Metro Start Screen, Desktop, and...
