Unfortunately, there is nothing in the Event Viewer that corresponds with my issues time-wise. In fact, there aren't even any warnings or errors from the time my system last failed to shut down or restart.

Sometimes when shutting down or restarting my PC (Dell Latitude E6500), it freezes and hangs right after the screen goes black. The hard drive activity indicator turns off and the laptop doesn't shut down. I've tried waiting a bit to see if anything happens, but no. It just hangs in that state...
