    Win 8 and WEP wifi?

No, I checked this: entering a bad password fails immediately, entering the correct one goes to the "checking network requirements" stuff and then fails. I'm pretty puzzled.

    Win 8 and WEP wifi?

It connected to the router, but then failed when checking network requirements... whatever that means... which dumps the connection, so, no, I'd have to say it didn't work, not on the Win8 box. The net speed test was using the iPad, which, like the phones and the XP box, connected without...

    Win 8 and WEP wifi?

Was really strange this morning. The IT guy walked in, asked how it was going... I had tested a few minutes earlier, and got 0.71 Mbs down... showed him, retested... and got over 11 Mbs. Talk about floored! He walked out, I retested, got 2.76... scratched head, tested again, got 0.61.. I dunno...

    Win 8 and WEP wifi?

Okay... reset it, no joy. I'm suspecting either a wireless printer or a couple of wireless cameras are the culprits here. Maybe we can turn them off one at a time and see wha' hoppen...

    Win 8 and WEP wifi?

Yeah, the three-finger salute -hardware version - is always worth trying. I'll hafta wait until the fat lady quits ****ing around on twit-face, but will def give it a shot. And let you know if it works, of course. Wonder wtf is going on with leaving off the "shared" option... oversight, or wht?

    Win 8 and WEP wifi?

Already done this, in various combinations. There is no "shared" choice... No authentication (Open) is followed immediately by the WPAs, couple of others after that, but no Shared. Pretty sure XP had a shared choice, but this 8. Hell, it doesn't even show WEP on this window. Wait, yes it does...

    Win 8 and WEP wifi?

Agreed about old crap, but not the issue. The router is a pretty new 2wire... it's not my facility and changing the encryption type is not an option. Two Samsung Notes and iPad all connect seamlessly, as does an older XP laptop - two of them, actually, mine and someone else's. Either Win 8 has...

    Win 8 and WEP wifi?

Brand new Toshiba P875-S7102 laptop won't connect to clinic's 2net router set to WEP, running 802g. It does accept the password, but then goes into "checking network requirements" and after several seconds -about 23 of them - announces "Can't connect to this network". The adapter is Intel...
