Thank you Caperjacj, I have been just coping the whole user file with my WD Passport USB 3 and in an hour or less I have the whole file. My belief is that if/when I restore, Ill just replace the user file and everything will be in the right place. Len

I was listening to a tech show and the tech guy said to back up; My documents My Pictures, My music, etc. etc. I have always just copied my whole user file, Am I doing it wrong? Len

When I try to open netsh wlan show all from a command window the results can't be selected and copied. When I do it from Search files, a command window opens and closes within a second. Len

This Defender problem is on a brand new computer that has not been used before so I don't think it is corrupted or has a virus. Maybe I should uninstall Defender and re-install from download, does that sound like a good idea?
