Thank you. I tried the above, however when I tried your idea, I then switched the fast startup option back on it went back to starting on the second attempt. Frustrating.

Sadly I don't have a clue how to fix it or how I made it happen. I installed Speed Fan but then later uninstalled it. That's about the only thing I've done lately.
