More strangeness, the thirty minute sleep timer isn't working, the computer stays on till it shuts itself off after about an hour. Double and triple checked all power settings again, all looks fine in there. Will have to try reinstalling and see if it fixes it or not.

No its not a Dell, its a custom built machine. As for the shut down, Windows acts as if I have pressed the shut down button, it closes all programs and the screen changes over to the shut down screen with the circle timer thing, then shuts off. Where do I find info in the logs about last shut...

Done all of that, checked every single advanced power option, even turned hibernation and sleep options off as a choice in the shut down menu. Besides, it's shutting down completely not going into sleep mode of any kind. Oh and it's a desktop PC.

I set up a hybrid sleep on thirty minute timer so that at least I can control the shutting down process for now. At least this way anything I have left open will not be lost as it would be when it keeps shutting off on its own. A fix would be best but it's not too bad a problem if we can't...
