Thanks for the help! Unfortunately I reinstalled windows already, only now saw the post. I have papers to submit so the reinstall was now the quickest solution. But glad someone else found the info of help. So I'll mark as solved. Thanks a million stars for your help!

Refresh PC don't work says it was unable to do that. Ok so I haven't reformatted yet and managed to get the desktop to load I booted into safe mode and disabled all windows third party services and processes and restarted. The desktop loads and doesn't switch like before I then re-unabled all...

Hi everyone. I'm new to windows 8. It's running on a Compaq laptop and it's being running ok for a few days. Once I login into windows it jumps to the start screen with apps then goes to the desktop (but you only see the taskbar) and back to the start screen again. It's does this every second...
