i'm having some problems after the install: at first, my task manager is still the one from windows 7, and secondly, all the metro stiled apps won't work. means, when i open an app, only the app logo shows in the middle, but the app won't open. :( for your information: i upgraded from a windows...

thanks for all the responses guys I guess i'll take the risk as i'm only installing it on my laptop, won't risk it on my desktop. ;) My most important data are also synced with skydrive, so they won't get lost if the upgrade fails... greetings

ok thanks. i'm not very familiar with the technical details behind windows 8, is it recomendable to install windows 8 to replace my current windows7 (thinkpad t410, windows 7 64 bit)? or will there be some (severe) problems with using currently installed programs?

just a question: everybody around here seems to be using the .iso download. why exactly? is there a disadvantage in using the setup provided by microsoft?
