I do see your point there. If there were a way to prevent employees from installing random apps from the Store, that may help. Anyhow, it's clear that this isn't a release that's geared toward businesses. Many businesses haven't even upgraded from XP yet. Too high of a cost. It's no surprise...

Well, I reinstalled and tried the media center key that showed up. No go. It won't work. I punched it in multiple times. The last five letters of the product key do show the proper letters of the 8 Pro key in system now, so that's right. I have no idea why the media center key was different and...

Yeah, for me, two large update files would fail to install and had to be reverted. I read that it may be because of corrupted files. I did a clean install of 8 a few days ago and the updates worked like a charm. I don't know what caused the issue though. These were the files: KB2779768 ...

Aka, turning Windows 8 into Windows 7. You dislike Metro. 7 lacks Metro. Problem solved. Smartscreen can be turned off, so it's a moot point, btw.

And do you have any documentation? Links? Etc about this Markmonitor being associated with Windows 8? ISPs might be utilizing it. That's a different story. Yes, the Cloud is becoming a bigger thing now. It's still entirely optional.

What other reason is there? Most of Metro is completely optional. What's left is the interface. Instead of doing everything in your power to avoid the interface, why not do the easy thing and go back to 7?
