    Thanks for reply Medab I tried that. All it saves for me is MM project file (52KB) not the complete movie. The project file accesses the clips/files stored on the HDD.

    I'm afraid there is no option in windows live 2012 to save your movie files to your HDD in any form, only to publish to the web. If your running W8, as I am, MS download site detects this and won't let you have an earlier version. The most useful version was available for W7.
