I bought a new Gateway One 23" AIO touchscreen PC today.

Out of box proceeded to install Windows 8 release preview.

Install was going smooth, and on final boot during the Preparing screen...my baby brother tripped on my power cord, unplugging my PC.

After turning back on, it returns to the same screen and then I get a pop up saying installation was interrupted and to restart both my PC and Installation. Fine. Cool.

Only option is to hit okay, and it keeps restarting and looping back to the same pop-up...

What in the world can I do?

Did you make the recovery discs that you can use to quickly reset it back to factory defaults?

Thank you for your help everyone.

I was actually able to do the alt+F10 Thing at boot, and it seemed to enter some sort of recovery mode. I had to run to work before it finished though.

Also, if that doesnt work...i have a co-worker burning me a Win7 Pro copy.

edit----------------------

My PC is back up and running. ALT+F10 at boot brought me into a factory recovery.

Now, I have successfully installed Windows 8.

I'm already giving up and waiting the sixteen days for full release.

WiFi doesn't work, and I don't have a way to create a wired internet connection.

I've installed drivers from gateways site, but still nothing. PC won't even recognize wireless card.

I recommend you post in the networking section if the PC doesn't recognize the Wifi card. Do you have a cheap Wireless USB adapter you can use?

I have posted there already.. no to the USB.

Do you have a secondary computer. A notebook, even a netbook would do. You could use that to create the Windows 8 recovery disk.

Your using release preview, thats your problem.

My TP link drivers just never worked in Release Preview. I then downloaded the final version of windows 8 (RTM) and EVERYTHING WORKED OUT OF THE BOX. Microsoft nailed it!

tldr; get the rtm edition. It's "Windows 8 final with updated driver support'
