Error Code: 0x080070570 when installing Win 8 on HP 600xt Touchsmart

Can't install Windows 8 Preview on a HP Touchsmart 600xt.

I tried a half dozen times and get the noted error code: 0x080070570 :Windows cannot install required files. The file may be corrupt or missing. Make sure all required files are available."

I downloaded the latest version of Windows 8 Preview iso file twice and burned each to a disc twice to make sure my boot disc was not corrupt.

First I tried upgrading Windows 7 x64, then tried a clean install after formatting my HD.

Help or suggestions would be appreciated.

When you burned your disc did you use the slowest speed available? I've often had issues when burning Microsoft ISO to quickly. I would also check that you have the latest BIOS\Firmware updates.

Also when you download an ISO it is a good idea to check the Hashtag MD5 versus the online MD5 version, cause if they are different then you will have a problem.

You do realise that you have just over 3 weeks anyway now for the official release of Win8? Why are you trying to use the Consumer Preview and not the Sneak Peak version?

I am confident my iso burns are good. That said, with the final release so close I will wait and expect all to be good. I did not know about the sneak peak version. Is it supposed to be the same as the final release?

The Sneak peak has 90 days trial on it I think which is pretty much up to date with the RTM Release, and if your going to buy Win8 then you can upgrade from this version to it when it is released using a Microsoft bit of software.

That being said you could always try burning at a 4x speed to see if that helps.
