Release preview installed and runs ok. Now trying the free enterprise version. First tried the 32 bit, got this error " Windows cannot install required files. The files may be corrupt or missing. Make sure all files required for installation are available, and restart the installation" Down loaded a 2nd copy of the 32 bit, burned the iso, same error. Downloaded the 64 bit, all custom install, and after Copying windows files, Getting files ready for installation, is when I get this error.

After several attempts, further developments. The enterprise edition will not install. Trying both the 32 & 64 bit additions. The 32 bit install attempt stopped at "Installing updates" after 2 hrs I restarted computer. The latest attempt using the 64 bit version ended in the same error mentioned above. I have swapped out hard drives and DVD's. The Pre-release version installs without any fuss or errors. Don't know what the difference would be in the installs??

Hi There meebers. I had the same exact error trying to install 64 bit W8 Pro. I ended up switching my ISO burning program from Daemon Tools to Active@ ISO BURNER. I tried 4 different ISO burns from Daemon with the same error on every install attempt. First shot with the Active@ was good. I hope you get it sorted out.

Tx for reply, was giving up hope ;-). I have used ImgBurn and Win7 CD burn in my previous tests. Just downloaded Active, will post back.

I also wanted to mention....make sure you burn the ISO at 4x speed. No faster. Good Luck!

Got your message about 5 minutes after I did my last burn. However, did a 4x burn with the same results. Next tried the Nero burn check software to test my DVD, it failed horribly. New drive expected oct 2, will have a go at it again.

Hi there

The error 0x80070017 translates to "CRC Error", means that the files that are being copied from DVD are not making it to the hard drive with the exact structure. Mostly because the original files on the disk are being modified/changed/corrupted during copying it to the "destination" location on the HDD during installation.

It usually can be caused either a bad DVD, or a readading error on the DVD drive.

The easiest thing is actually to make a USB drive to install Window W8 (I did it most the time). How to make it, you can visit this thread Create Bootable USB or DVD with Windows 8 ISO

If you still feel good to install it from DVD drive then you have to make sure to burn the ISO file with slower speed as mentioned above post, choose a good DVD disk, and you DVD drive optic still in its best condition.
