Installing with the installer and less than the minimum requirements

I've read a dozen threads that say "just don't use the installer". Problem is, CP does not see my wireless network adapter, it's not there at all. It's there in DP, and in win7, and in vista. So I cannot do a fresh install, if I have any hope of having it work on CP, and I'm not even sure that will work. I can't do an "upgrade" when booting from the win8 cd, it says restart and use the installer, when i try to upgrade from both win7 and DP. As it's only 800mhz, I need to find a way to bypass the system requirements, but I can't figure out how. I'm hoping someone else has, since it's my only way.

Thanks.

Firstly, you need to use the Release Preview, as that will probably get your wireless adapter working. I had the same thing with the CP, my new adapter didn't work and I couldn't use the metro IE 10 and had to use 7 to get it working. The Release Preview had it going like it was a native device, very impeccable!

Also, could you share your PCs specs? As in, is it a desktop, netbook, or a laptop. And when you boot from the CD, can you specify step by step what you do and what happens? Help me to help you. :D

I wouldn't fret too much about the 800 MHz processor and not meeting spec. I would worry if you don't have the appropriate screen resolution to use the metro apps. I once installed Windows 7 in a Virtual Machine running at 800 MHz using a single core, 128 MB of RAM, 8 MB of Video RAM, 8 gigs of hard drive space and everything ran fine, even the Aero transparency. Windows is a very adaptable piece of software, the system requirements are there so new PCs can deliver a consistent user experience.

I think that the RP will fail to install on a processor that is less than 1GHz. It checks minimum specs and then refuses to go further. Even if installed by applying Install.wim to the hard drive, the specialization phase of the oobe halts with error messages. The CP seemed to have none of these checks.

The way to get around the wireless adapter problem may be to hook up by cable to the router's ethernet port, install Windows with latest updates, then to set up the wireless driver either from OEM drivers in compatibility mode, or from online driver downloads, configure the wireless setup and restart, and with luck the wireless will take over the networking.

One other thing to check is that the system clock is correct - sync it to internet time.
