Hi, I am thinking about upgrading my laptop, from my windows 7 Professional 64-bit to either 8 or 10, can't decide which, and 32-bit or 64 bit. To sum it up, I have a 2.40Ghz Intel 2duo 2core processor, 4gb DDR3 ram, and directx11 Mobile Intel 4 express chipset gpu, here's screenshots of directX and system info below, so I was wondering which would better suit my low/low-mediocre laptop, windows 8 or 10, and 32-bit or 64 bit, I game quite a bit, main games are League of Legends, Combat Arms, and Minecraft. I am much more of a hardware guy than a software guy lol.

You are better staying with Windows 7. Dell does not have Windows 8/8.1 or Win 10 drivers. Some devices will not work or work properly even on Win 8 as Win 8 requires Win 8 specific sound driver (for one).

For Win 10, here is the statement on the Dell site:

[h=4]Product not tested for Windows 10 upgrade[/h]Dell is not testing or developing Windows 10 drivers for this product. If you choose to upgrade, some features, applications, and connected devices may not work as expected.

I'm not sure what you would gain by going to 8 or 10, other than having a newer OS. Unless you plan to add more than 4GB of RAM, I wouldn't bother with 64-bit.

If I were to upgrade, I would go with Win 10 32-bit on that machine. Win 8 is kind of a lame duck at this point.

I upgraded a similar Dell laptop to Win 10 32-bit and it ran fine, no issues with drivers. I didn't need to go searching for any drivers after the upgrade, everything worked fine from the get go.

Before attempting the upgrade, make sure you do a full system image backup just in case the upgrade gets borked.
