Hi,

I'm trying to reboot my Windows 8 (factory reset). I followed the tutorial of eightforums.com, though
it is still not working. I tried three differents things

1. I went to settings, change PC settings, general then remove everything and reinstall windows but I had the following error message "Insert media, some files are missing. Your windows installation or recovery media will provide these files".

2. After booting my usb key with the installation files, I restarted my computer then I went to "Troubleshoot"
then "Reset your PC" and I had the following error message "Insert your Windows installation or recovery media to continue". So failure

3. The last thing I found do not do a factory reset, but ask me where to build the OS between 8 different partition. (I have Debian, Ubuntu (which doesn't work) and windows 8 and one "shared file" between Debian and windows8

Thanks

Welcome to the forum. Do you have win8 or 8.1 if you had win 8 and its since upgraded to 8.1 its looking for the wrong files. A factory restore should work but delete linux paritions and set it back as it was when it came so it know were to find paritions

Maybe I think the problem is that I have windows 8, and my usb key has a Windows 8.1 boot.
I tried to update windows 8 to 8.1, though I cannot find how to do it, the files are not available.

I cannot delete linux partitions, because the grub is on my ubuntu (which doesn't work I cannot access it)
or I'll need to change it to windows and I don't know how to do it

Can you post a screenshot from disk manager so we can see the portions etc so can sort it out. If your on 8.1 you need that disk go repair
