Brink, I need your expertise in guiding me on how to permanently get rid of apps/programs (or whatever the correct term might be) that might be on my laptop. The "Upgrade to Windows 10 Home" has already been hidden several days ago. I need very detailed directions on what I need to do to get rid of anything else that is related to "10", such as:

The Windows symbol located on my task bar (bottom of screen on right-hand side) that contains the "Get Windows 10" message.

The hidden "Upgrade to Windows 10 Home".

The GWX.exe services/processes from the task manager

Need to rename GWX folder in system 32 and system 64

Delete $Windows.~BT folder (and/if) $Windows.~WS folder

Delete/uninstall some KB updates that were installed that has to do with Windows 10. I know I have a few but I don't know which ones refer to Windows 10.

And anything else that I don't know about.

I have no idea where to begin for any of the above. I don't know how to find most of the items listed above. As stated I need explicit and thorough step-by-step instructions. That's why I'm asking you for your expertise and knowledge to get me through this.

Thank you, Shawn.

Juliet, hope this will help: http://winsupersite.com/windows-10/...rade-installing-after-making-your-reservation

I believe scenario 1 fits your situation.

Hey, popeye, how much spinach do you eat each day?:roflmao: Sorry, I couldn't resist the opportunity. Thank you for the link. I will review tomorrow; don't have the time today. Be ready for possible, OR MORE LIKELY 'DEFINITE', questions.

Popeye, I need your help. I would like to check the $Windows.~BT folder (and/if) $Windows.~WS folder to see if upgrade files have been downloaded. I do not know the procedure/instructions on where to find this folder. Can you direct me on the steps to actually find to hopefully confirm that upgrade files have not been installed? Thanks, popeye.

C:\

It's a top level folder - possibly "hidden" so you'll have to use View in File Explorer to show those.
