Solved Inf Loop after power failure during win7 install/format

So I accidentally pulled the power cable from my dv7 7305eo during a wipe/clean install ofwin 7 and now I get the Infinite restart loop of boot failure. I googled the error however the registry folder in HKLocalMachine\SYSTEM\Setup\. does not exist (Child...) bootrec /scanos does not find any installations of windows despite having installed them. How can I fix this?

Do a clean install again from scratch.
During install, delete all partitions on the drive then select the empty partition to install to and let the Windows installer create and format any partitions it needs.

yeah it did I mean I used diskpart and did the partitioning myself before coming here but after I just let the installer make the default parts it worked. Now I have a different issue with maybe the HDD being damaged (r/w is frustratingly slow, faint clickering sounds, first time setup hanging itself multiple times) but that's a different kettle of fish.

Hard drives should not make noises, especially clicking or grinding noises.

Maybe it's time to look into a 250GB or so SSD
