CrashAfter Failed Windows up date - How to update correct?

Hey guys,

I did a fresh install of windows 8 pro. I went and installed drivers etc, then went to do windows update.... it hung on an update for 2 hrs. So i forced it off and booted it up again. Wouldn't boot to system or windows. Was stuck in a reboot loop. Tried repair etc but no luck.
What is the best way to update windows to correct this or any updates I shouldn't install yet?

Update now I did another update once I did another fresh install. Now when I get into windows I cannot select the start menu or anything before it looks like windows hangs and just sits there thinking forever.

Wish a fresh install was easy. Not full of headaches or take me 2 days after work to get it going. Hope I can get it resolved today so I can use it this weekend.

Update. I tried installing a fresh copy. Once again windows update froze and crash. I am now trying to dl a smaller portion of updates to see if that works. Then install drivers. Need to get my pc working have tasks that need completion by tomorrow.

I was able to get it working. For me my steps were install windows. Restart. do windows update but only a few at a time. Guess before some updates were having issues together.
