Hi, I'm trying to install Vista on my pc just to mess around with it (not to use as daily os), but I got a problem, everytime i try to boot the installer disc it would just show the loading bar and a second later (literally a second) it would just go to a black screen and nothing else would happen.

Now I'm installing this into a blank hdd with my main win 8.1 hdd turned off in the uefi bios (as to avoid complications) and I honestly don't know why this is happening.

Booting the disc in uefi mode and legacy mode both yeilded the same results.
In the bios i have tweaked various settings such as turning secure boot off, turning off xmp profile etc.
But nothing seems to work so im thinking it might be my gpu so i going to try and use the intergrated graphics tommorow, see if that makes a difference.
Any help would be appreciated :)

Hi,
You can try to copy Vista installation files on second ( or create new ) partition of main HDD and then boot from that. ( no USB, no DVD )
Have you installed Vista before form same ISO?

even though I wonder why exactly Vista? why not 7?

Yeah I did before (infact I just used it in a vm and it worked installed) and Windows 7 is great and all but Vista was on my first ever PC so I just wanted to go back and see how it is again and I also wanna install GTA V on it and just see how much of a performance difference there is to Win 8.
