Questions about a fresh clean OS install

I plan to perform a fresh clean install of win. 8.1 from my retail disc after, installing a new motherboard and processor. Will the new install format the ssd clean or, will it just store the old OS and all data in a folder? If possible I would like to do the install without all the old system being saved to the drive to reserve space. Thanks for all help!

when you do the installation, when you get to the partition screen, delete every partition and allow windows to install to the unallocated space

    Hello and welcome,

If you format your SSD, all the data will be removed, but some virus still not get removed after a format.

Actually, formatting does not actually REMOVE the data from the drive. If it did, those utilities that allow you to recover data after formatting a drive could not actually work. All formatting does is rewrite the partition table -- leaving the data intact.
