Any issues in prepping bootable SD card via USB adapter??

gang I have a question. is there any risk in preparing a SD Bootable image of Win 8 via using a common USB SD Card adapter/'reader' for the makeboot? Or should I move to a system that has a normal SD slot and prep it there?
just want to do this once, if possible... and have it work :geek:

wasn't really the question: my question is whether preparing the SD, or micro SD for that matter, via USB adapter/reader causes any issues with the finished SD card.
