I have pressed F9 during boot up and that gets me to a screen on which I can supposedly go to a section in the UEFI which I can select with the + and - keys and then pressing Enter.
Although the F9 key works, the computer doesn't respond to either the + or - keys or the Enter key. It is as though the USB port into which the keyboard is plugged is not active.
The machine is an HP 110-412na.
I have written the Microsoft ISO to disc as per Fred Langa's item in the current Windows Secrets newsletter. Although I have removed all the non solicited software which was pre-installed I want to start from scratch with a new Microsoft only Windows.8.1
