Hi there windows 8 users,
Windows 7 64 bit here, and what I thought was a successful install turned into a unknown mess, or fear of one anyway.
Last time I tested, was vista and that was a amazing experience with few issues, but this was very different.
I didn't use the ISO, but a 'install windows' exe; do not recall where I got it off hand,,
All seemed to go well, until one screen noted that I might have to remove some apps and install them later
after windows 8 was working. Most notifications were innocuous enough, but one had a red X, which was bitdefender, a anti virus app I was trying.
After that, computer rebooted, but whatever was whatever event was trying to run, was not working well at all, although bitdefender was still running. Maybe that was not clevr of me , not to uninstall this anti virus app, or at least stop it from running, but there we are.
I had to force a reboot, and upon rebooting, it seemed all was fine, then I got the warning that windows 8 was not successfully installed and my old OS would be applied. WHEW.
I wanted to note, that instead of the non ISO installer I had, this time I grabbed the ISO.
Is it likely the ISO will be successful this time, in conjunction with not having bitdefender installed ?
Igot no other warnings from the install , short of several yellow warnings which were mostly of the 'reinstall in windows 8' .
cheers
