I have a hard disk which already have windows installed, and now I want to setup this hard disk to my new computer, and of course I dont want to reinstall my OS.

I know that if I boot from this hard disk ,windows may not correctly boot because of drivers mismatch.so I just want to know is there anyway to deal with it without reinstall windows?

My Computer

System One

  • OS
    windows 8 pro 64bit
Put the hard drive back into the old computer and boot it up.

Run in am elevated cmd the following commands...
Code:
pushd C:\Windows\System32\SysPrep
sysprep.exe /generalize

Wait for it to finish.

Move disk to new machine.

Boot.

Activate Windows with your new CD-KEY that you bought with the new machine.
