Hi.

Recently I am running Windows 8 Enterprise 64-bit, 4 MB ram,
Motherboard : MSI H61MU-E35 (MS-7680) (SOCKET 0) 32 °C,
CPU : Intel Core i5 2400 @ 3.10GHz 51 °C Sandy Bridge 32nm Technology,
Storage : 2 TB Western Digital WDC WD20EARS-00MVWB0 ATA Device (SATA)
(full specification is on attached file)

I came to know that Windows 8 Enterprise is not upgradable to 8.1.

Is my pc is ok for win 8.1 (and coming win 10) ?.

AND is it possible to backup my exist data and software the restore after installing win 8.1 ?. if not what is best solution ?.

AND shall I wait for win 10 release and buy windows or windows upgrading to 10 for free ?.

Thanks and regards.

Acronis or Macrium Reflect will back up your Data files or create an Image of your disk.
I didn't know that enterprise was not updateable to 8.1??
MS has not announced the cost for Windows 10 yet.

You should always have your data backed up. And yes create a disk Image before updating would be the safest way. That way if you run into a problem you can just go back to where were before you started. Very few people had any issues upgrading to 8.1
You should look on the manufacture of you unit they may have some drivers you need to update before the upgrade and after. It would be very smart to follow there recommendations for your unit/ Same for your motherboard since it appears that you built your unit.

The system requirements for Windows 10 are the same as Vista-8.1 so the only major hangup you may find is if you need new drivers for Win 10.

If you're upgrading from 8.1 to 10, all your data and programs should migrate just fine, but if you're going to do a clean install of Windows 10, you'll have to reinstall all programs and then restore data from backups. It's also unknown at this point if Windows 10 will be a free upgrade since Microsoft hasn't made any kind of official announcement and those announcements also tend to vary by region. I would plan on it not being free, or even offered at a discount for an initial promotional period. That way if it is offered at a reduced price or even free, it's an added bonus, but if it's not then you're fully prepared for that eventuality. I also wouldn't go getting my hopes up about Win 10 being offered for free. In its entire history, Microsoft has never offered a free upgrade to Windows and I doubt that they're going to start now. Not sure where it is people got this idea in their head, but I suspect most of them will be very disappointed whenever Windows 10 finally releases and have only themselves to blame for believing the hype in the absence of any information one way or the other.

WET, Todo PCTrans can transfer data among the PCs (including in-place system upgrade). If referring to Windows 8.1, don't suggest you Windows Easy Transfer.
In addition to, if you plan to transfer software, you could try Todo PCTrans, it offers the service.

Thanks but I noticed free version is supporting only 2 applications, if it is 2 programs it is useless.
Buying software to use one time is not fair.

Regards.

You don't need a special program to transfer data like Word documents you've created, or photos. Just copy them onto an external HDD or a USB flash drive and then copy them back later. No special software required.
