Unable to upgrade to 8.1 OxC1900101 - Ox4000D

I have tried 3 times to the update my desktop to 8.1 but always get the same message:

"Sorrywe couldn't complete the update to 8.1. We restored your previous version ofWindows to this PC"
OxC1900101- Ox4000D

What should I do?

First, make sure you have all updates for 7 installed.

Also, run sfc /scannow in elevated command prompt to be sure you have no system file corruptions.

You show 7 in specs. Same answer if you have 8 installed.

So what about sfc /scannow? Would also help to have much more info such as computer make/model, OEM or retail 8, UEFI BIOS or Standard BIOS. Did you upgrade from 7 to 8?

You may end up having to back up important stuff, re-install 8 then upgrade to 8.1.
