download a copy

i have preinstalled copy of windows 8 & key
is their a place i can download a copy, so can have a hard copy in case i need it?

Unfortunately, you would need a "retail" key instead to be able to download an official Windows 8 ISO directly from Microsoft.

If you like, you could create a recovery drive with the Copy contents from the recovery partition to the recovery drive box checked to be able to do a factory reset with.

Image backup using Macrium Reflect Free or a paid program like Acronis True Image is the way to go. Then no matter what happens, recovery is 20 to 30 minutes away and it puts you right back where you were when the image was created.
