You're gonna have to get the Enterprise Edition when 8 comes out.

I think that is the only one that allows it.

Are you sure. The CP is an Ultimate version - I think. I wonder though how that will work with the product key if you run it on different system. Will have to ask an EULA specialist on the Microsoft Forum.

    Hi there
I hope it is the Ultimate version also that allows Win to go -- this sort of stuff can be incredibly useful to Independent travelling consultants who aren't licensed for an "Enterprise" thingy. In any case a lot of businesses might baulk at licensing indpendent external staff for the Enterprise stuff -- and this still would be a pain if you work at more than one site.

In fact I see this product being of FAR more use to FREE LANCERS AND INDEPENDANTS rather than to actual "Permie" corporate workers.

I include in the "Permie" foray those who also travel to different sites but are employed by a specific consultancy --these guys could get their stuff from their employer. I'm specifically referring to INDEPENDANT or FREE LANCE consultants who probably would be by far the biggest business users of this type of product.

I like the idea that irrespective of the OS you have at the client's site you've always got a static regular os with some applications that you can use wherever you go such as Office 2010 without having to spend loads of time learning outdated stuff you'll probably only use for a short time during that particular contract.

    Hi Wolfgang,

This is in reference to your issues trying to get windows 8 on usb drive. Let me ask you have you had any experience yet with windows 8 to go? I seem to be having an issue when booting off of the usb drive as the boot device I see the windows 8 splash screen come up and the little dots appearing, however it is just a continuous loop. Have you had any trouble with that?

Jeff, I did that a while ago with the Windows 8 Beta and all I remember is that it worked. I have no idea why your's would not work. Must be a little glitch with the bootmgr.
