Official Windows 8 ISO Image Downloads

Hello, new here, so I hope I am posting in the right place.

I came across the following thread in the Windows 7 forums and I am looking for something similar for Windows 8:

Using the above iso images for Windows 7 I was able to create a Universal Install Disc as described in this thread, How to Create a Universal Windows 7 Disc (AIO) with both 32 and 64-bit versions. | TechPowerUp Forums

I want to be able to get the Windows 8 images and create a similar Universal Disc for Windows 8.

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

That will work to get the edition of Windows 8 that corresponds to my Windows 8 key but how would I get images of the other editions in order to make the Universal Windows 8 Disc?

That is not to show favoritism, but rather the only two members I know that would have the knowledge.

My TechNet / MSDN Windows 8 ISO's are multi edition. They will install Core or Pro depending on what key you enter during setup. You need an MSDN subscription to get them though. TechNet has been discontinued. Other than that, the only other official download that I know of is the one already posted. And as you know that one is version specific, you get Core or Pro depending on what key you use for the download. Microsoft lists the MD5 hash codes for the official ISO's and you can view them on MSDN without having to have a subscription. If you can obtain an ISO from another source, like bit torrent, checking the hash code for the one you downloaded will tell you if its been modified or not. If the hash codes match its likely not been messed with. We are not allowed to post links to those other sources so you'll have to hunt that up on your own.

You would need a Core and a Pro key to get both downloads from that link. How to merge them into one image is above my skill set. See my other post for an alternative.

I am currently on the MSDN site, I think that will get me what I am looking for but in the descriptions it has Windows 8.1, "N" "VL", there's a number of them to choose from. Can you explain to me the differences?

The ones I use are Windows 8.1 with Update (multiple editions) (x64) - DVD (English) and Windows 8.1 with Update (multiple editions) (x86) - DVD (English)
K and N versions have Media center and or IE removed to comply with some foreign laws. I'd avoid those. Enterprise and VL (volume licensing) editions use special activation methods tailored for large corporations. keep in mind that you can look but you can't download without a subscription. Microsoft MVP's get free subscriptions, that's how I got my account.

My laptop came with Windows 8.0 Core. When I do a clean install with my MSDN 8.0 ISO it reads and uses the embedded OEM product code automatically and installs 8.0 Core. It activates online automatically to. If I use my 8.1 ISO the OEM 8.0 code is ignored and I'm prompted to enter one. in that situation you can do this, http://www.eightforums.com/installa...retail-windows-8-1-windows-8-product-key.html, I have 8.1 keys so I use them.

If you click my username or avatar you'll get an option to view my profile. Once you do that there should be a "Send personal message" option on the left side of the screen. I'm sure there is a tutorial for this but I can't seem to find it at the moment.

Check your User CP general settings to see if Private Messaging is enabled. I don't see an option to send you one either.

I wouldn't post your email address on a public forum like that. the web spiders will pick it up and you'll get spammed to death. You'll likely get PM options once your post count gets high enough.

You can delete that post by pushing"Edit post" then there will be an option to delete at the top. No need to fill in the reason.

Computers 4 U, if you were going to ask me for a link to a download, I don't have one. I have an MSDN account so its been a long while since I've had to hunt up an ISO on the Internet.
I also can't share my MSDN ISO's, that could get me in trouble with Microsoft. Sorry.
