Solved Error on installing Win7 in UEFI

I have tried installing Win 7 in UEFI on my old Asus K56JV Laptop.

I have used a tutorial by Brink to create the bootable usb.
The system can see it but after it has loaded, I get the following message:

Windows failed to start. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause. To fix problem

1. Insert your Windows installation disc and restart
2. Choose your language setting and click next
3. click "repair your computer"

status 0xc0000225

What should I do from here?

I have tried to make the usb both manually and with rufus usb software.
The system does not currently run on UEFI, but it supports it, and I have changed it in BIOS.
Also I run Ubuntu in dual boot. I don't know if the GRUB interface does anything here, because the recovery
will not start either, though I believe it did so last time I formatted the laptop

Hope someone can point me in the right direction

Thank you in advance :)

Hi

If you disable UEFI mode in BIOS and enable the default 'Legacy" mode, can you boot and run currently installed version of Windows without issues ?.
if I set acer lptop to legacy ,it boots and says no OS found .

do you have ubuntu installed on your computer what os are you dual booting with if you have windows 8 and ubuntu installed and you want to install windows 7 you will have to uninstall ubuntu and install windows 7 and then reinstall ubuntu you must install all windows os first before installing linux as windows overwrites grub

You could try this - delete the partition you want to install Windows 7 on and leave it as unallocated space then start your W7 install and when you get to selecting custom install create a new partition in the unallocated space and install to that - hopefully it will.

cracker try this put you windows 7 cd/dvd in reboot open bios select boot tab look for 1 login select uefi cd/dvd in cd/dvd drive put to first position on boot sequence press f10 or whatever and then select yes to save it should then boot into win 7 setup when it gets to disk partitions select disk 0 delete all partitions any other partitions just delete to get rid of ubuntu win8 whatever you have.now the burning question is your hard drive formatted to gpt if not after deleting partitions do so otherwise uefi wont work for you give that a shot see how you go

select uefi cd/dvd in cd/dvd drive
I don't get uefi cd/dvd ,I just get vd/dvd .I change from uefi to legacy, and when I boot to win7 it will not install on any partition new or old ,and cant delete any of the partitions ,hdd is GPT ,that my issue I guess ,think I have to use windows diskpart to delete them .maybe

I created a uefi usb using the rufus program suggested here ,but it still will not install win7, my brain is taxed lol

I am running Win 7 on the laptop already, but in legacy, and with linux as a dual boot. Yes the BIOS supports uefi, which s why I tried switching it on and see if the installation would start.
The same has happened on my new ASUS, with win 8, where I wanted to remove it and install win 7.
Since I had no luck, I have used win 8 and found that win 8.1 is quite nice and fast, but I have of course switched off most of the so called 'Modern' interface. Since I have a Win 7 license for the old one I wanted to use UEFI instead of legacy.

I have tried these tutorials, but it is nothing else than what I am used to when booting from a usb. This still gives me the same
error. Are there other suggestions, if removing linux won't work?
