Hello. I've got an Asus n550lf with windows 8 single language. Because I'm noob and I wanted to have dual-boot without gpt disks, I've raped off my original windows 8 oem. I've reinstalled but I guess it is Windows 8 Core.

I tried to use slmpt -ipk cdkeyhere but it gives me a message error.

How can i force my oem key to work and activate my windows 8 core?

Any idea?

Thanks

When you installed the OS onto the computer, did it ask you for a key, or did it simply install without a key? It should read the embedded BIOS key when you install and therefore should be the same version on it that it came with.

And I think the command you want is slmgr.vbs...not slmpt. But like I said above, this should be unnecessary.

The Windows 8 key is in the BIOS. Usually you need not do anything for the activation.

I've installed without a Key, then I've used dr. emulator to "activate" but this is a fake and logs out my user every time when i login and it's annoying. Yes, I mean slmgr.vbs xD. It doesn´t readed the bios key but when I use RW Everything it shows me my product key. :(

You may have meesed it up with the dr. emulator thing.

Assuming you have a copy of Core, best to reinstall, then if necessary enter the key you found with rweverything.

It should go:

slmgr /ipk xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxx

Is "Single Language" a special SKU requiring a specific ISO? I seem to remember seeing some other threads dealing with Single language installs and regular install media not accepting those OEM keys.
tobicito, were you prompted to enter a key during the install?

Yes, you will need a "Core Single Language" image. As far as I know, you can't use regular core image.

Yeah, it asked me for a key during the install, but my key was invalid for that version, so I just skipped that and "activated" later with dr emulator, but that was just a dream... u.u

If it asked you for a key, than it wasn't the version that was embedded in your BIOS. Otherwise, it would have just worked.

I didn't know there was a different version for single language.

Ah, I thought that might be that case. And why the OP's key won't work.
