winload.exe error on booting up Windows 8

Created a separate partition to install Windows 8 to permit dual boot with either XP or Windows 8. Windows 8 install went well until first attempt to boot up Windows 8. Got error message saying operating system couldn't be load because a required file is missing or contains errors. Error code was 0x000000e and File: \Windows\system32\winload.exe

winload.exe was installed in the Windows 8 partition ... so I don't know how to interpret the error message or what to do about it.

    any ideas?

    A)
Check if there is winload~1.exe file in \windows\system32.
If present change "ApplicationPath" of Windows 8 loader using Visual BCD Editor to \windows\system32\winload~1.exe.
(change path = double-click on path and edit)

Alternatively (in Windows XP) use bcdedit and change "path" of Windows 8 loader.
(bcdedit is present in \ProgramFiles\VisualBcd folder after installation)

    B)
Could you specify the version of Windows 8 you are trying to install ?

There could be something wrong with the .iso used for burning - see if checksum is OK.
Maybe installation media was burned on high speed - use a lower speed (4x) to burn.

This path is for windows 8 ?

I was using 9200.16384.120725-1247_x86frev_Enterprise_VL_HRM_CENA_X86FREV_EN-US_DVD downloaded using torrent. Now I'm downloading official release preview. I used USB as install media.
My orginal OS is windows 7 not Xp, forgot.

Check if there is winload~1.exe file in \windows\system32.
If present change "ApplicationPath" of Windows 8 loader using Visual BCD Editor to \windows\system32\winload~1.exe.
    Please note the "if present".
ApplicationPath for Windows NT6 loader since Vista is "\windows\system32\winload.exe".

Torrents are NOT a very reliable source for software which is also unofficial.

    On standard installation SiPolicy is defined for Windows 8 loader and for {bootmgr}

The screenshot from previous post lacks Recovery too - I assume it is after StartUp Repair.

Adding Recovery later is done with two commandsadmin prompt)
    ReAgentC /disable
    ReAgentC /enable

    On Recovery prompt:
    bcdboot drive_letter:\windows
where drive_letter is Windows 8 drive.

If you can boot to Windows 7 download and install Visual BCD and run "Dual-boot Repair"->"Automatic Repair"
this would fix Windows 8 booting.

    Other things to try:
    ----------------------------------------------------------
Usually when running StartUp Repair and the result is error you REBOOT and do it again.
and you repeat the exercise up to three times.
If errors persist you do "inplace reinstall".
    -------------------------------------------------------------
Advanced users could try on recovery prompt:
    0. save \boot\BCD
    bcdedit /export "drive:\path\file_name" - for example: "c:\BCD_Backup\BCD_07aug2012"
    1. delete \boot\BCD (you have to change attibutes = attrib -s -h c:\boot\bcd then del c:\boot\bcd)
    2. delete \bootmgr
    3. write new MBR and PBR to active partition
    bootsect /nt60 all /force /mbr
    4. write new BCD using
bcdboot c:\windows - c: assumed to be Windows 8 (=latest Windows OS installed on comp) drive if not change accordingly
