Solved Can't Delete Some Files from Windows.old

I had to install windows 8 a second time because the audio didn't work the first time. Strange, but the second install fixed it.

Now there are a bunch of files in C:Windows.old and some of them won't delete. It says Folder Access Denied You require permission from TrustedInstaller to make changes to this folder.

Who/what is TrustedInstaller? How do I delete all the Windows.old files that are useless?

I'm the Administrator and only user.

Same thing happened to me. Install this registry hack and right click on the folders you want to delete. Click on Take Ownership. Once done (takes a while), you will be now be able to change the permissions for the users of the folder. Right click on Folder, click on Properties, go to security and allow users full read/write privileges.
