Hi All
Before the months internet allowance is changing to next month I would like to download and save the 8.1 upgrade. I'm still on W8(pro) and like getting ready as in the near future I would also install the 8.1.1.
Does anyone have a link for the 8.1? I know I can do through the store though not exactly ready.

Thanks:D

I did look through your link and others and could not find an 8.1 ISO download link option. As mentioned before, the 8.1.1 I'll do later.

My Computer

There's not a direct download link for the ISO, but if you go through the steps in OPTION ONE or OPTION TWO, it will download the ISO.

Since you have a Windows 8 key, OPTION ONE would be best to get a Windows 8.1 ISO.

Just so you know, you need a Retail key to do the download Brink linked to. If you follow it though it will download the files and then give you install options. You can select "install by creating media" and you'll then get an option to create an ISO file or bootable USB thumb drive. An 8.0 product code will let you download 8.1 as well. If you don't want 8.0 just start the download and after 30 seconds or so cancel it. Then click the button to download 8.1.

Hello again
I did download and install through the store as it would not accept the 8.0 Pro key with Brinks download suggestion.
Unfortunately the license of my CAD system went nuts and so I restored back(image backup before update) to 8.0.
At some stage in the future I will do a fresh install of the OS and its updates and then load all programs again.
Thanks for your support.

Hi again
In the meantime I have found that the recovery partition(OEM) is empty??? Over and above that I find the partition setup a bit odd. One extra feature was that I did install 8Pro over 8 Home premium(as much as I remember)so that might have something to do with it?
If the first partitions after C: and the Restore are empty should/can I delete those?

In the meantime I have found that the recovery partition(OEM) is empty???

The 300 mb,900 mb, 450 mb, & 20.01 gb Partitions are not empty, just show empty in DM.

Have you made the OEM manufacturer's Recovery Disks?

information   Information

We always assume you have made your Recovery Disks using the OEM manufacturer's Recovery Media Creator app the first day you had your new PC.
& made the Startup Repair CD. (Windows 8 only)

I would recommend you making the OEM manufacturer's Recovery DVD's or USB drive.
or
You can order the Microsoft official OEM Recovery disks from the OEM manufacturer's website.

I changed the drive letter so I could check, made system files visible- nothing there? This applies for the 450+20.1Gb
Have made the recovery dvd at the very beginning after I bought the machine.
The questions are because I'm thinking of dual boot 8 and 8.1 to check if my software(2008) is working(in 8.1) without having to upgrade the software.

Yes Partitionguru made it very much clear that the partitions are not empty
I would like to dual boot 8.1 with w 8 .
Have you got a suggestion where I should place it(the 8.1) on the drive? The disk is better visible in a previous post.
