Anyway to customize the User Tiles so they don't all look similar

Hi there
I'm not a developer and apart from dabbling quite a lot with EXCEL I don't do much if any coding so I'm not requesting a tutorial on how to write a Metro app.

What I Would think would be great would be for some way to customize the User application Tiles --for example with a different background colour and / or to choose the Icon inside the tile. If you have a reasonable number of applications - even only keeping the primary application on the start menu there are a lot of tiles which look very similar.

I'm sure someone will find a way for example the desktop tile shows your desktop background picture from a W8 or W7 theme you may have used.

I'm impressed so far -- unlike the other nay sayers I think this version will run --in fact after a while it even makes good old W7 seem like a pre-historic system.

Cheers
jimbo

if you look in the store, there are some tile creating apps. if they can create, they should customize

Jimbo, if you look in these folders.

For Your Account Only:
C:\Users\User-Name\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs
For All User Accounts: (must be administrator)
C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs

You should see the shortcuts for some of the tiles on the Metro Start Screen. If you right click and go to properties > shortcut, you should be able to at least change the icon. I can't help you with the tile color though. There may be a little delay between when you change the icon and it actually shows on the Start Screen. You can rename the shortcuts too.
