Should one enable "Launch PXE OpROM" when installing Wind

I have Windows 8.1 as the default OS on my laptop

the question is, to install Windows 7, I have to enable CMS

when I do that, I see an option below it that says:

Launch PXE OpROM

it is disabled by default

is it recommended to enable it or keep it disabled?

Is this a OEM manufacturer's PC with Pre-installed Windows 8?

1) Downgrade to Windows 7.

Warning you must have the UEFI/BIOS firmware setting in Step Three set.

Make sure you read the NOTE at Step three.

2) If Using a USB Pen drive on a PC with a UEFI BIOS.
USB Pen drive need to be formatted to FAT32 as in

Take note of Step 11 for Windows 7.
Also you will need to use a USB 2.0 port, as there are no USB 3.0 drivers in Windows 7.


You will need to buy Windows 7.

As you have updated to Windows 8.1, you will need to make a partition for Windows 7 x64 after the 350mb Windows 8.1 Repair tool partition.

Launch PXE OpROM is not used by home uses much.

thanks for the reply, someone on another forum said that PXE OpROM is only needed when booting to a network or something so I won't bother.

I do have Windows 7 Professional Genuine license/DVD so that's not a problem and I've installed it before on this laptop but I just came across this setting, on a video I watched on YouTube by some russian dude, he did enable PXE OpROM so I had to ask. But it seems he had no idea what he's doing.

I am sticking to Windows 8.1 for now as the drivers are more compatible with my laptop since ASUS doesn't offer official drivers for Windows 8 for my laptop.
