Clean reinstall

Hi
If I do a clean re instal of windows 8, will it move all my pics and bits to a windows old file or will it wipe them?

It will wipe them.
Back up all your data before making a clean install.

let me clarify anything that is on the partition that you clean install to will be lost. Even a Partition on the same drive that your clean installing to could get wiped if you are not very careful. It would be foolish not to back up/or move, any data before starting a clean install.

Is this a OEM manufacturer's PC with Pre-installed Windows 8?
If yes, Have you made the OEM manufacturer's Recovery Disks?

We always assume you have made your Recovery Disks using the OEM manufacturer's Recovery Media Creator app the first day you had your new PC.
& made the Startup Repair CD. (Windows 8 only)

Best strategy is to keep all personal files in a seperate partition. Then they are not effected by any system events such as reinstalls or crashes.

But if your personal stuff is on the system partition, you absolutely must back it up before a reinstall.
