I'm pretty familar with working around most computers but this one has stumpped me...

Acer Aspire X AXC-603G-UW31

Had Windows 8 on it. Want to add 7.

So far I was able to wipe the drive clean by hooking it up to another PC using EASEUS Partition manager.
I put the HD back in the Aspire and my Windows 7 disc in the DVD drive. The same error keeps coming up.

"Reboot and Select porper Boot Device or Insert Boot Media in Selected Device and press a key"

Boot priority is set to the DVD. Also when I hit F12 for boot manager it sends me to the error as well.

In Bios there isn't many options like a normal computer. Kind of a cheaper computer so options are cheap as well.

Any ideas?

On some Acer, Gateway, P. Bell, Windows 7 x64 will not install in UEFI mode.

Enabling the boot device menu

On most Acer systems, you can use the F12 key on boot to select the drive or network from which loading the operating system. In case the F12 option does not work, you may need to enable this function.

SOLUTION

Enabling the F12 function:

1.Power on the system. As soon as the first logo screen appears, immediately press the F2 key, or the DEL key if you have a desktop, to enter the BIOS.
2.Press the right arrow key to select Main.
3.Use the arrow keys to navigate to F12 Boot Menu, and press ENTER.
4.Select Enabled, and press ENTER.
5.Press the F10 key to save changes and restart the system.

Bootable media from previous versions of Windows may not be recognized in Windows 8. You can change the Secure Boot setting and it should recognize the bootable device.

Use the following steps to change Secure Boot:

1.Completely shut down your computer.
2.Power on the system. As soon as the first logo screen appears, immediately press Delete to enter the BIOS.
3.Use the right arrow key to select Authentication.
4.With Secure Boot highlighted, press Enter and then the down arrow to select Disabled.
5.Use the right arrow key to select Boot Options.
6.With Launch CSM highlighted, press Enter and use the down arrow to select Always.
7.Press Enter.
8.Press the F10 key to save changes and restart the system

It had Windows 8 I took the drive out and hooked it to another machine. I have tried Windows 7 32 and 64, neither seem to work. The drive is brand new and works in the other machine just fine. I know its something in the Bios but can't seem to figure out what. There isn't that many options in the Bios....

There is no Bios update either and even if there was an update how could I install it?

I keep getting the famous,

The Bios in this system is not fully ACPI compliant. Please contact your system vendor for an updated Bios. 0x00000045 error

After trolling the net for 2 days I still can't get this figured out.

Please any help would be great!

1) Read post 6.

Also I have tried Windows 7 64 & 32 & XP,
2)YES & NO, down to your UEFI/BIOS firmware setting.

3) 1) Downgrade to Windows 7.
http://www.eightforums.com/tutorials/13326-downgrade-windows-8-windows-7-a.html
Warning you must have the UEFI/BIOS firmware setting in Step Three set.

Make sure you read the NOTE at Step three.

2) If Using a USB Pen drive on a PC with a UEFI BIOS.
USB Pen drive need to be formatted to FAT32 as in
http://www.eightforums.com/tutorials/15458-uefi-bootable-usb-flash-drive-create-windows.html
Take note of Step 11 for Windows 7.
Also you will need to use a USB 2.0 port, as there are no USB 3.0 drivers in Windows 7.

You can install from USB flash drive or DVD.

Try Legacy BIOS Boot Mode if UEFI Boot Mode not work.

Also make sure Secure Boot is disabled.
