Hi,

I need your help pls!

My uncle purchased a brand new Sony Laptop Vaio with Windows 8. He clicked the button to update them to Windows 8 pro (he said this button was when Windows 8 logged on for the first time). After downloading (normal procedure) Windows 8 pro, and during Installation, he was asked to enter his Windows 8 pro key. He doesn't have any, he thought he would be able to do it by entering his existing Windows 8 key (that the whole thing was a promo). AS a result he doesn't have a registration code.

How can he revert back to using windows 8? Because he tells me that now when he restarts the Vaio, he gets to the windows 8 pro page waiting for registration key. He also said that the key f8 (I told him to press it during boot to see his options) doesn't do anything at all.

So i need your help pls!

One option is to reset the laptop to factory settings:

Have you made the OEM manufacturer's Recovery Disks?

information   Information

We always assume you have made your Recovery Disks using the OEM manufacturer's Recovery Media Creator app the first day you had your new PC.
& made the Startup Repair CD. (Windows 8 only)

I would recommend you making the OEM manufacturer's Recovery DVD's or USB drive.
